After a series of consultation with the village officials, police and other stakeholders, several of the major streets in Zamboanga City will implement a dry run for a one-way traffic scheme on March 20, 2017. Another phase of dry run will be held on March 27, 2017.
The first phase will be along the streets for west coast bound vehicles. No right turn and no left turn as mandated in Executive Order 250 will be implemented. San Jose Road going to Yubenco Mall will be one way, except the portion from the intersection of Normal Road going to the Gov. Camins junction. R.T. Lim Boulevard will remain to cater vehicles both headed west and east. The phase 2 will be for vehicles bound for the central business district area, 7am to 8pm, Monday to Friday, excluding holidays. City Administrator Marie Angelique Go said the planned “one-way” scheme was aimed to address the worsening traffic problems in areas inside the seven-kilometer radius of this city compounded by the ongoing road diggings of the ZCWD for its pipe-laying project, Sunstar reported.
