Siargao Islands boasts a possible P3 Billion tourism-related investments in 2018, General Luna, Siargao Mayor Jaime P. Rusillon said as mentioned in a MindaNews report, January 12.
Accordingly, around 90% of the investment will be poured in General Luna town.
Most of the said capital will go to purchases of land, building resorts and restaurants, and other businesses.
“There were several cozy resorts that opened its doors in town recently,” the mayor said.
In the last five years, over a billion pesos from the tourism industry have been spent every year in the town. In fact in the past few months, over 50 new businesses have opened constituting multimillion-peso investments.
Among towns in Surigao Island, General Luna has been known for the best surfing spots that make Siargao the tourism hub of CARAGA region.
