DAVAO CITY- Tire manufacturer Black Donuts Engineering Inc. from Finland is targeting construction of $200-million rubber-manufacturing plant in Mindanao. This is according to Philippine Rubber Research Institute (PRRI) Director Rodolfo Galang in a Philstar article dated January 10, 2017.
"We have a potential investor from Finland who is planning to put up an investment in manufacturing plant for rubber tires," he said. The manufacturing plant will cover 50 hectares of land in Davao which will have the capacity to produce four million tires per year. Accordingly, this would translate to about 16,000 metric tons (MT) more of rubber to be planted and produced annually.

No official location has been divulged, but accordingly, the private company will visit Davao for an ocular inspection of possible land and plant areas. The company chose Davao because of its economic value for agriculture and trade.
