CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY- While the first Imax theater in Mindanao opened last September 28, 2012 at SM Lanang Premier, Davao City, Cagayan de Oro will host another one this year at SM CDO Downtown Premier along with several upscale shops and international brands. To recall, SM CDO Downtown Premier will be Mindanao's largest mall having a Gross Floor Area of 152,000 square meters.

The shopping mall will cater 7 cinemas in all; 4 regular cinemas, 2 directors club, and the iMax theather.

This IMAX theater will be 9th in the country after SM Mall of Asia, SM City North EDSA, SM City Cebu, SM Southmall, SM Lanang Premier, SM City Clark, SM Aura Premier, and SM Megamall in Mandaluyong City.
