Last December 9, 2016, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) published the dataset containing Philippine Population Density which is based on the 2015 Census of Population. The data revealed the most densely-populated city in Mindanao is Marawi City which has a population of 201,785 with a small land area measured 87.55 square kilometers. It's followed by Cotabato City which has population density of 1,701 persons per square kilometer. Tagoloan, although not a city yet, boasts 1,450 persons per square kilometer of population density. Tagoloan is then followed by Tagum City, General Santos City, Cagayan de Oro City, Linamon in Lanao del Norte, Iligan City, and then Dipolog City.
