BUTUAN CITY- Three more malls will be built in Mindanao after SM City Butuan. SM Shopping Center Management Corp. vice president for Mindanao Operations Oliver John Tiu announced yesterday, February 14, that the company will have five more malls in the Mindanao by 2020.
Tiu divulged that these five SM City branches will open in cities of Cagayan De Oro, Tagum, Butuan, and Zamboanga, and Toril in Davao City.
He was referring to SM CDO Downtown Premier as for Cagayan de Oro and the under-construction branch in Butuan. Accordingly, SM CDO Downtown Premier will open this May.
The mall’s investment direction is buoyed by Mindanao’s strong economic momentum and expanding middle class, wrote Anna Angelica Sotto and Ace June Rell S. Perez in a Sunstar article HERE.
“We are very upbeat on investing Mindanao as it holds a lot of opportunities,” Tiu said. Butuan and Tagum will be officially launched by first quarter and fourth quarter of 2018 respectively, while SM malls in Zamboanga and Toril will be finished by 2020.
Keep posted for more updates on the upcoming SM malls in Tagum, Zamboanga, and Toril.
