ZAMBOANGA CITY- Zamboanga City Special Economic Zone Authority, the only economic zone in Mindanao, ventured well as it generated 1,467 new jobs and garnered P749.16 million of investment last 2015. As of December 2105, there were seven additional locators, namely: (1) Development Bank of the Philippines; (2) Phil.-Union Canning, Inc.; (3) RPH General Services; (4) AHS Agri-Aqua Venture; (5) Aces Technical Services, Corp.; (6) Sea Oil Philippines; and (7) Zamboanga Coffee Company. There are 20 existing locators in ZAMBOECOZONE. The 15 locators are located in the 1st Industrial Park, three in the 2nd Industrial Park, and the other two are situated in the ZAMBOECOZONE Highlands Farms. According to NEDA, ZAMBOECOZONE serves as the hub for economic development, promotion of trade, investment and tourism in order to generate economic activities, employment and revenue, thus bringing about socio-economic upliftment in the city and the nearby provinces of the Zamboanga Peninsula Region.
